![]() ![]() When Philip's father insisted he marry Brian, to turn him into a man, Philip actually pushed Brian down the stairs to try to kill him! Oh, but Brian is still in love with him. ![]() Brian actually came across as more of a slave than a servant in that house. ![]() I was hoping that maybe Brian would ultimately end up with someone else, someone who could take him away from that mansion, but it was not to be. Brian even stated in the beginning that Philip beat him, but he still loved Philip. Philip was an abusive, spoiled, self-entitled brat. If this was the author's idea of "romance", then I would recommend therapy. That wasn't the only place that the word "consummation" was misused. One of the worst: Father started the consummation of the marriage. Normally I give the benefit of the doubt to ARC editions, figuring that there are some more edits to polish things, but this was too much for a simple polish to fix. There were a lot of odd phrasing that came pulling me out of the story and some word choices that were just wrong. I kept reading hoping that there would be something nice I could say, but there really was nothing. I found nothing redeeming about this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. ![]()
